For the past six months, I’ve been working on an indie game in GameMaker Studio 2. In two weeks, on Tuesday, June 11, Open Ocean will release on Steam! This is my first indie game, so I decided to make a small game with a big message, and while it’s not the most fun game in the world, I’m extremely proud of it! Here’s a link to the Steam page:
EDIT: The game is now available on itch.io as well!
Today, I completed my quest to work my way up the Game Designer talent tree! I was promoted to Designer! Goodbye, associate!
I’ve accepted a new quest: Ship a title with a 90 plus Metacritic review score.
I’ve always been a firm believer that games, or even small parts of games, are made by teams, not individuals, but it sure feels nice when someone writes a stunning article about content that you were in charge of. The first of many 🙂 When I started working on this mission, I remember thinking, “I’m getting paid to make a haunted house. I love my job!” Being a game designer is pretty great.
Monolith released a dev diary video:
Monolith released a new Shadow of Mordor trailer. This time, it’s a live action trailer!
Two new Shadow of Mordor story trailers!
We released another story trailer for Shadow of Mordor! This one is about the wraith!
In an unprecedented move, we also pushed our release date forward to September 30, 2014!
That’s right, I am now an FTE video game designer at Monolith/WB Games! My dream of becoming a full-time video game designer is now complete. Don’t think I’m just going to stop there though! Next step: Work my way up the game designer chain!
